Which language is easiest for English speakers?
Among the ones we cover, Italian has the shortest FSI estimate (24 weeks of full-time classes), with Spanish and French at 30 weeks. All three are in FSI’s easiest category.
Should I learn Spanish or French?
Spanish if you travel in the Americas or live in the US; French for France, Canada, parts of Africa or international organizations. Both take about 30 weeks full-time according to FSI.
Can I learn two languages at once?
It is possible but slower. Most learners do better focusing on one language until they can hold a basic conversation.
How often should I take lessons?
Once or twice a week, on a fixed slot, with short practice in between. Consistency matters more than long sessions.
